A HIGH-ENTROPY GEL COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THEREOF
The present invention describes a high-entropy gel (HEG) composition derived from organic raw materials and method of producing thereof. Particularly, the composition comprises a high-entropy gel composition derived from organic materials, the composition comprising at least a semi-crystalline polymeric backbone and at least four different crystalline components in a non-equimolar ratio, wherein the at least four crystalline components interact with one another via reversible physical bonds of hydrogen bonds, ionic interactions and ion-dipole interactions hence forming a homogeneous, free-standing gel. The high-entropy gel composition provides enhanced ionic conductivity and high dielectric permittivity, thus enabling it to be used to fabricate self-healing sensors, for use in green electronics, soft robotics, environmental and healthcare industries. HEG is self- healing, reusable and biodegradable and can be used to make a tough packaging material, for example, to keep fruits and vegetables fresh.
